An Optical Engineer is needed for a Swiss-American pharmaceutical and medical device company specializing in eye care products in the Fort Worth, TX area. This role provides technical expertise in optical performance characterization of intra-ocular lenses (IOL) through metrology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support medical device development and research in accommodative and refractive correction.

responsibilities:

• Perform optical measurements such as modulation transfer function (MTF), surface profiling, and wavefront analysis.

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in optical measurement of IOL.

• Collaborate with diverse engineering teams to understand and improve IOL performance.

• Provide technical support for performance characterization in ophthalmic product development.

• Investigate and measure optical performance of intra-ocular lenses (IOL) for medical device development.

• Conduct extensive research in optical metrology, primarily in accommodative and refractive correction areas.

Skills:

• strong proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Optical, Opto-Mechanical, Photonics Engineering, or Physics.
