Reporting to the Value Stream Supervisor, the Welder B will be responsible for welding materials to build vessels or components as specified by blueprints, work order, or layout using arc-cutting equipment, GTAW equipment and GMAW equipment.

You Will:

  • Welds on tanks, heat exchangers and subassemblies in the GMAW or GTAW processes.

  • Review the work order, bill of material (BOM), and blueprint to understand the job details.

  • Gather parts and chooses appropriate tools and equipment to set up work area.

  • Perform grinding, fitting-up, fixturing parts, sanding and welding per design drawing.

  • Move product through the area with equipment such as a forklift and overhead crane.

  • Change out consumables and handle upkeep on tools such as sharpening tungsten.

  • Keep time and inventory in Epicor.

  • Clean up area and equipment.

  • Attend safety training and department meetings.

  • Provide guidance and training for co-workers with less experience.

You Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2-5 years of welding experience, with ASME experience being a plus.

  • Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and use measuring tools like tape measures and calipers.

  • GMAW or GTAW certification.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
