The Mammalian BioAnalytics Characterization group, part of the Global CMC Development organization located in Framingham, Massachusetts, is seeking a Co-op to join the team. The candidate will work on developing automated methods for mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis to identify and quantify host cell proteins (HCPs) generated during the production of biotherapeutics.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work with supervisor to plan, design, and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret experimental results.

• Evaluate new technologies and develop automated platforms to streamline and improve the efficiency of HCP analysis.

• Collaborate with group members and automation team on method development and implementation.

• Operate and maintain mass spectrometry instruments.

• Document results in electronic lab notebook, author technical reports, and present findings at internal meetings.

About you

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an MS or Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or biological science.

• Must be able to relocate to our Framingham office location and work 40hrs/week for the full duration of the Co-op.

• Must have permanent US work authorization.

• Good understanding of protein mass spectrometry.

• Hands-on experience with protein and peptide sample preparation techniques.

• Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry instrumentation.

• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving, communication and inter-personal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in scientific programming and scripting.

• Experience with analytical separation methods, high throughput automation platforms, and proteomics data analysis software
