Retail Clerk: Royal Gift Shop

Part Time, 20-30 hours per week | Wage: $12.50-$13.50 per hour | Shift Examples: 8am-4:30pm; 1pm-9:30pm, 10am-7pm

As a Retail Clerk in our Royal Gift Shop, you are instrumental in bringing this purpose to life by delivering exceptional service and fostering memorable moments for every guest who enters our doors. 

WORK PERFORMED:

1. Guest Interaction and Salesmanship:

  • Embody our core values of trust, respect, optimism, and fun in all guest interactions.
  • Assist guests with their purchases, providing product information and recommendations rooted in trust and respect.
  • Process transactions accurately on cash registers and handle telephone or in-person orders efficiently, maintaining an optimistic and friendly demeanor.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for our products, creating a fun and enjoyable shopping experience for guests.

2. Merchandising and Stocking:

  • Package and arrange merchandise for display in the shop with meticulous attention to detail as directed by buyers and retail leadership team.
  • Unpack, price, clean, and restock merchandise and supplies as needed, ensuring a well-maintained and inviting atmosphere. Proper organization and cleaning of stockroom.

3. Cash Handling and Accountability:

  • Handle cash transactions with integrity and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions and adhere to cash handling procedures.

4. Guest Services:

  • Answer guest inquiries about Bavarian Inn and Frankenmuth, demonstrating knowledge and enthusiasm for our brand.
  • Promote the Bavarian Inn Perks Club and other offerings, fostering optimism and excitement among guests.

5. Training and Development:

  • Aid in the training of new team members who may be shadowing you by providing guidance and support during their onboarding process.
  • Continuously develop within your own role by attending department meetings, training sessions, and other educational programs as scheduled.

6. Other Duties:

  • Report inventory levels and guest preferences to the buyer and leadership team, contributing valuable insights to improve our product offerings.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at all times, adhering to health code regulations and upholding our commitment to cleanliness and safety. This includes dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and other cleaning tasks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (minimum age of 14)
  • Neat appearance and friendly disposition.
  • Basic arithmetic and cash counting skills; able to operate a computer cash register.
  • Ability to stand/walk continually for the duration of shift (8+ hours).
  • Ability to lift moderate weights occasionally from 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Motivated team player with a commitment to creating enjoyable experiences for guests.
