Job Description Summary

We have an amazing opportunity for a dynamic Associate Director, HR to join the US Region, who will support Region’s leaders providing strategic HR leadership and guidance to improve organizational effectiveness and build culture of purpose and high performance. This role will be critical in working across the Business Unit HR leaders to execute the Strategic Plans that fuel growth, fostering trust and strengthening leadership capabilities.

This role will report to the Sr. Director, North America & Corporate Marketing and work together across the enterprise, in collaboration with members of the HR Centers of Excellence, Associate Service Centers and HRBP colleagues to align HR strategies with business objectives. This position is a trusted business partner, providing insights and solutions on talent needs, organizational development and culture.

Responsibilities:

Change Leadership

  • Applies appropriate change management tools and techniques to situations to drive positive outcomes and minimize disruption

  • Mobilizes others and leads change at the regional level, collaborating where necessary to ensure unified approach in execution

  • Takes action to influence others, utilizing change management tools to identify stakeholder positions and key

  • Engages with associates / leaders throughout the change process to address issues, stabilizing change and embedding change

  • Builds resilient cultures throughout change initiatives

Business Acumen

  • Has a strong understanding of the business and knowledge of how they shape decisions within the region

  • Examines internal and external benchmarks, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring the organization is prepared for the future

  • Articulates current and medium term strategic objectives and ties to leadership / capability needs, including succession planning and talent acquisition

  • Assists in the development of Culture and Talent strategy for US Region, as part of the Annual Strategic Review process

HR Analytics

  • Understand and assimilates complex data and analyzes it based on business context to generate insights for strategy development

  • Supports leaders in identifying and tracking effectiveness metrics

  • Develops measurement framework for suite of people processes and outcomes that link to driving business objectives

  • Collects data around multiple talent and organizations initiative to analyze impacts on business performance

  • Articulates results in a digestible fashion and communicates results to business leaders

Building and developing teams

  • Ensures constant focus on capability and works with leaders to address gaps and develop thoughtful engagement plans

  • Actively coaches regional leaders on strategies to enable team effectiveness and holds leaders and team members accountable for inclusive behaviour

  • Supports regional leadership teams through stages of developing high performing teams by using appropriate tools and strategies

  • Creates and fosters “Team of Teams” work principles adopting common purpose, building trust, empowering execution and enabling shared consciousness

  • Facilitates the US Region HRBP community meetings and sets goals, objectives for the talent goals with specific focus on Inclusion/Diversity, Engagement, and Career Development opportunities

  • Proactively takes measures to strengthen team working norms and accelerates leadership development

HR Integrator

  • Demonstrates agility working through core HR partners within the function for Employee Relations, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employment Law, Associate Service Centers to connect associates and leaders to the appropriate HR contact to deliver seamless support

  • Manage key annual processes across the Region: Performance Management, Compensation, and Talent Reviews, ensuring accountability at all stages, and sharing observations, recommendations to deliver on future needs of the organization

  • Demonstrates ability to influence business partners in order to align HR strategy

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required with a focus in HR, Business, or Psychology preferred; Master's in HR, I/O Psychology or a related field preferred; SHRM designation an asset

  • 8-10 years’ experience in the field of HR required, with a solid knowledge of all HR functions as key business levers.

  • Extensive HR client experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple levels, functions and cultures with a sense of urgency required.

  • Experience working in large complex environments and matrixed organization is highly desirable.

  • Ability to collaborate with various business clients and adeptly navigate a variety of business opportunities and challenges. The ability to come up to speed quickly and apply standard methodologies in various settings is a key skill

  • Action oriented including the ability to make decisions in the face of ambiguity

  • Organizational savvy to apply managerial courage and maintain relationships when confronted with complex and/or difficult situations

  • Proven success in translating ambiguous business needs into strategies and concrete team and individual development actions

  • Possesses personal credibility as embodied by proven track record of success, able to instill confidence in others, able to frame complex ideas in useful ways, takes appropriate risks, able to provide candid observations and alternative insights on business issues
