Group/Division Summary:

The Environmental and Process Monitoring (EPM) business unit in the Chemical Analysis Division provides air quality and process monitoring instruments. We support Thermo Fisher's mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Our instruments are used globally in various end markets including industrial, academic, government, semiconductor, and biopharma.

Position Summary:

Seeking a motivated Product Management Director responsible for revenue and margin growth in EPM. This role involves leading marketing, product development, and strategy, and collaborating with a distributed team. Preferred location is Franklin, MA, but remote candidates will be considered. The Product Management Director reports directly to the VP/GM and is part of the EPM leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Performance – achieve and surpass quarterly revenue and margin objectives for the product business segment. Get results by translating strategy into action through the implementation of critical metrics and regular business reviews.

  • Guide and assist a team of product managers in developing and implementing the business segment strategy. This includes setting priorities, creating a product roadmap, introducing new products, establishing pricing strategies, and leading all aspects of the entire product lifecycle for the portfolio.

  • Develop cases for new opportunities and collaborate with R&D to incorporate customer and market insights, ensuring well-defined product requirements.

  • Drive development and implementation of marketing campaigns to improve commercial pipeline growth.

  • Discover, assess, and make a case for acquisitions as well as external innovation and other partnerships.

  • Coordinate effective commercial training for current and new products, highlighting competitive advantages, key selling points, and product positioning.

  • Drive the development of the business unit strategy through the annual STRAP process in collaboration with the EPM leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in science or engineering preferred. MBA highly preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in analytical instruments or related industry with a consistent record of growth in marketing, product management, strategy, and/or commercial roles

  • Experience developing and launching new products in a global business.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal sales force, channel partners, and customers to drive commercial performance and develop business insights.

  • Outstanding team leadership skills and the ability to effectively acquire, develop, engage, and mentor a geographically dispersed team.

  • Role model in identifying, leading, mentoring, and developing diverse talent.

  • Proficient in marketing and product management including market/competitive analysis, VOC, new market entry, lifecycle management, product positioning, pricing, product roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Outstanding commercial skills - an ability to recognize growth opportunities and capitalize on them.

  • Be a contributing leader within the business unit leadership team, driving collaboration to ensure achievement of growth objectives.

  • Demonstrated consistent track record of leading in a matrix organization.
