Advocates Unit Supervisor in Franklin, Massachusetts
Overview
Starting Rate: $20/hour
As a Unit Supervisor at the Employment Center, your role is pivotal in the development and execution of Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals, behavior support strategies, and therapy services tailored to individuals in your care. You will create schedules and coordinate opportunities for work, volunteerism, and community engagement that align with their unique needs and aspirations. Your responsibilities will encompass meticulous documentation, including assessments and evaluations.
Leading a dedicated team of support staff, you will provide mentorship and cultivate a nurturing environment that encourages individuals to exercise autonomy in decision-making to the fullest extent possible. Collaborating closely with the Program Supervisor, you will contribute to administrative planning, ensuring seamless operations and the delivery of effective services across the unit.
The Employment Center is dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities to secure meaningful job opportunities. We provide comprehensive support services to individuals ages 21 and above, aimed at enhancing job readiness skills, fostering independence, and facilitating integration into the workforce.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of, and commitment to, agency mission and values
Promote the mission and values of HMEA through effective leadership
Promote teamwork; practice open communication and respect diversity
Hire, train, and supervise support staff
Develop schedules and opportunities for work, volunteer and/or community activities that are appropriate and meaningful to the individuals supported
Assist with the development and implementation of ISP goals and objectives, behavior support strategies and therapy services for individuals supported
Complete written documentation (including assessments and evaluations), reports and records in a timely and professional manner
Manage program and consumer funds in accordance with HMEA policies and procedures
Encourage and support individuals in making independent choices to the greatest extent possible
Demonstrate effective use of analytical skills, past experience and logic in order to render sound and objective decisions
Assist Program Supervisor in administrative planning

Qualifications
Associates degree in related field preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
3 or more years’ experience working in related field.
Valid driver’s license along with an acceptable driving status.
Use of a reliable vehicle, which seats two passengers.
Additional specific experience may be required.
