POSITION: Nutritionist I DEPARTMENT: Macon County Public Health Grade: 26 Starting Salary: $38,512.24 *[This position also qualifies for Recruitment and Retention Pay of an additional $2.00 for actual regular hours worked through October 20, 2024 or a maximum of $14,000.00, whichever comes first. RESPONSIBILTIES Primarily responsible for the provision of basic nutrition services to clients eligible for the WIC program. The work requires analyzing clinical and nutritional data in order to prescribe appropriate supplemental foods based upon the clients nutritional needs and food preference. Applicant should have general knowledge of accepted nutritional and dietetic principles and practices; basic knowledge of foods and nutrition and basic knowledge of infant and child development. Hours of work are generally 8-5 Monday through Friday with potential for occasional evening and weekend hours in the event of a public health emergency.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS]{arial=""}*

• Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education-approved Didactic Program in Dietetics;
• ORDietetic Technician, Registered with the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education with a Bachelor's degree in any subject area from an accredited four-year college or university;
• ORa Bachelor's of Science degree in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition or Community Nutrition from an accredited four-year college or university.
