Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking talented Civil Engineers to join a dynamic and highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the Nashville area office. As a civil/site engineer, you will be responsible for investigation, planning, analysis, design, technical production, and field oversight of a variety of projects in both public sector and private industry. You will also have the opportunity to work in diverse teams of technical experts providing innovative solutions that improve the quality of public facilities used every day by people across the state of Tennessee.
Responsibilities:
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered
Conduct design technical reviews from initial concept to 100% design drawings
Design of utilities, roadways, general site development, grading and drainage, best management practices, erosion control, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and hydraulics
Drainage studies include low impact development strategies & hydrology.
Preparation of drawings, specifications, basis of design, and technical memos
Performs interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and identifies discrepancies in results
Participate in risk analysis walk-throughs and value engineering efforts
Support consultation efforts with regulatory agencies and acquisitions of permits
Prepares technical specification sections
Work with other professional staff members to collaborate on reports, studies, drawings, and design narratives
Track and maintain submittal review process
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET Accredited University
Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required
2 years of experience
EIT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Regularly work with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Willingness to learn new programs for design
Experience with various drainage analysis programs
Able to be professionally licensed in 2 years
Strong organizational skills
Strong working knowledge of general civil engineering principles
Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges
High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $105,000.00.
