Description:

  1. Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Behaviors of Trinity

  1. Consistently demonstrate (leads by example) Sanctuary Values to all internal and external customers (residents,

visitors, volunteers, and associates.) Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, propagating a calm

environment throughout the community. Actively participates / intervenes with direct care as needed and as a role

model in ongoing Sanctuary Training of personnel.

  1. Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TSLC.

  2. Establish and/or maintain departmental procedures that support the necessary operational functions for the

Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

  1. Maintain department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary and reports needs to

Environmental Services Director/Administrator or Executive Director.

  1. Determine departmental staffing requirements and assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of

personnel for the Community or Department.

  1. Schedule work assignments, preparing and revising schedules as necessary.

  2. As assigned monitors department work hours (including vacation and holiday schedules), personnel (if applicable), work assignments, etc., to ensure proper work flow and adequate staffing levels in compliance with state minimum regulations and sanctuary budgeted PPD hours

  3. Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel and discipline department staff. Supports community personnel from

other departments through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence. Addresses

issues of concern through courageous conversation and notifies department manager of any interactions requiring

attention.

  1. Participate in community surveys and when necessary assist in development of a plan of correction for department deficiencies.

  2. Assume authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the housekeeping and laundry departments.

  3. Assist in setting department standards and develop procedures for daily performance of housekeeping, laundry

and if needed floor care functions and tasks.

  1. Assist in standardization and measurement procedures for tasks and functions of the department, including

auditing and room inspections.

  1. Complete necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director as necessary.

  2. Implement recommendation from the Infection Control, Safety and MDQI Committees as necessary and as

directed.

  1. Assist in orientation and training as required.

  2. Train staff in proper techniques of mixing chemicals, labeling disinfectants and solutions. Train staff in proper

techniques of cleaning methods and the use of equipment as directed

  1. Review and evaluate performance of assigned staff and submit review paperwork in a timely manner to Human

Resources.

  1. Track and administer attendance write up’s when necessary

  2. Administer and assist in maintaining MSDS and hazardous material, ensuring that refuse is disposed of properly in accordance with sanitation procedures.

  3. Assist staff on the floor in housekeeping, laundry and floor care. Cover call in’s as a working supervisor when

applicable.

  1. May be asked to transport residents in a company vehicle to and from appointments, shopping, etc.

  2. Must function independently, make independent decisions, demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity and ability to work effectively with residents and personnel.

  3. Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the community policies and procedures.

  4. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, TSLC Corporate

Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a

manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
