Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an outstanding individual who is motivated and passionate as the Director of Pre-Market Product Security (Cybersecurity /IT) . This is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the development and proactive program strategy of our product security initiatives. As the Director, you will collaborate with various teams across the business to effectively implement security-by-design principles into our products aligned with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Drive secure-by-design product development principles into a diverse array of product lifecycles, including embedding resources, promoting shared assets or components, and building products that are supported long-term.

Collaborate with a variety of partners to prioritize product security assessments with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and the voice of the customer.

Develop and consistently improve metrics and key performance indicators to assess the impact of initiatives and our program's health. Use this data to drive continuous improvement through our PPI model.

Coordinate and disseminate program activities to ensure alignment with peer leaders and customers. Foster effective communication channels to share updates, progress, achievements, and opportunities.

Present and champion new insights and initiatives to improve product security capabilities. Take full ownership and responsibility for driving critical initiatives to successful outcomes.

Effectively lead a distributed team, managing resources, priorities, and supporting workflows to optimize risk reduction and value creation.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred).

8 years of proven experience in product development, product security, or more broadly cybersecurity fields.

Knowledge of current industry standards and evolving challenges in the cybersecurity field, specifically but not limited to: secure software development framework, NIST, NIS2, and other global frameworks.

Strong collaboration and customer service skills with a focus on effective communication.

Ability to lead and develop a distributed team to foster collaboration, growth, and innovation.

Experience in evaluating risks, analyzing threats, and developing and implementing action plans.

As a Director-level position, you will also be responsible for providing strategic guidance to senior leadership and collaborating with external partners and industry experts.
