Aerotek Electrical Apprentice in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Aerotek's client is looking for Electrical Apprentices to assist with night work at their manufacturing facility in Ruther Glen, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing installations of basic electrical equipment and systems following all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

  • Running rigid (1.5 inch) pipe to gearboxes,

  • Wiring 3-way switches,

  • Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment.

  • Install and mount electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Required Tool List- Must have for 1st day!

  • Screwdriver Set – Phillips and Flathead

  • Channel Locks (2 pair)

  • Side Cutter Pliers/ Diagonal Pliers

  • Socket set and wrenches (3/8” is preferred)

  • Hot Stick/ Voltage Detector

  • Steel Toed Boots

Employee Value Proposition:

  • Opportunity to go into the field if they want once perm and get per diem on projects/travel. For Electricians - they would be going to the same manufacturing facility every day and minimal weekends required which is a nice change up from the construction life.

  • Opportunity to enroll in their apprentice program. This will be paid out of pocket by the employee (taken out of weekly paycheck). Once they complete the apprenticeship program the will be paid back for the cost of apprenticeship! After 4 years when they receive their Journeyman card and successfully compete the program, the client will pay them back for the cost of schooling.

Work Environment:

  • Shift: Monday – Thursday - 4pm - 2am

  • Currently working 4 10’s and an 8 but working to get to a straight 40 hour work week (4 10’s)

  • Nice manufacturing facility
