Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Family Law Paralegal to join our client's legal team in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In this role, you will primarily provide comprehensive support to attorneys in family law matters, manage case files, and prepare relevant legal documents. You will be part of a dynamic legal practice that values expertise, teamwork, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to attorneys in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and related areas.

• Conduct legal research and prepare relevant documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories.

• Assist in the drafting and editing of legal correspondence and agreements.

• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

• Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are accurately maintained.

• Assist attorneys in trial and deposition preparation.

• Manage all stages of discovery.

• Utilize software tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Excel for efficient case management and document handling.

• Handle billing functions, calendar management, and claim administration tasks.

• Handle complaint handling and briefing tasks related to family law and domestic relations.

• Utilize knowledge in civil litigation and litigation paralegal practices for effective case management.

Requirements • Applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Paralegal.

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel is mandatory.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with a Case Management System is required.

• Familiarity with LexisNexis is essential.

• Candidates should have experience in handling billing functions in a legal environment.

• Expertise in briefing, calendar management, claim administration, and complaint handling is expected.

• Candidates must have a solid understanding and experience in Family Law and Domestic Relations.

• Experience in Civil Litigation and working as a Litigation Paralegal is required.

• Candidates should possess strong skills in managing and working with other Paralegals.
