IBM Qradar Test Specialist in Fredericton, New Brunswick

Introduction

The Quality Assurance engineer is an integral part of the Security Intelligence team that is responsible for participating in the execution of procedures for ensuring the quality and serviceability of new features and releases of software. To achieve this, the Quality Assurance engineer will be required to plan, author and execute product test plans and interact with quality and development engineers. The candidate will perform the assessment, planning and execution of test efforts required for new functions/features under development; consult with quality and development engineers in resolution of complex problems; develop new approaches, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing testing methodologies and processes.

The successful candidate will work within an agile team which includes quality assurance, documentation writers, customer support representative, product managers, architects and software developers.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Creation and execution of comprehensive product test plans, test cases and scripts

  • Test automation development

  • Interfacing with Development team to understand/resolve potential defects in the product

  • Collaboration with Customer Support team to understand/reproduce field issues

  • Configuring/installing Linux servers and other security devices

  • Assist in accurately estimating the QA phase of software development cycle

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

    • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in a related field- 2 to 5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience or experience in a related field- Experience with Test Automation/Scripting- Networking/Security expertise- Experience with Linux, Java script, html and regular expressions- Expertise in two or more of the following: Java/Java script, Visual Basic, SQL, XML, HTML- Strong problem solving/troubleshooting abilities- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities- Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge of TestRail test case repository

  • Networking/Security expertise

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
