We are looking for a Mechanical Integrity Entineer II to join our GEC team in Freeport, TX.

As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer, you will be instrumental in Ensuring mechanical integrity programs are in place, implemented and properly documented, including inspection/testing and preventive/predictive maintenance programs (vessel/piping, PSV, boiler code, vibration, lubrication, etc.) also, ensuring first-time repair quality in an accurate, efficient, and effective manner (contractor and BASF).

As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer II, you create chemistry by...

  • Maintaining the boiler code certificates for the site, working with each Business Unit to fill out the correct paperwork and file it with the state to ensure we maintain our license to operate.

  • Providing recommendations for inspection type and/or frequency changes based on inspection history, current inspection findings, changing service conditions, changing corrosion rates/mechanisms, remaining life, etc.

  • Participating in audits of plant Mechanical Integrity program, including RBI revalidations, participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis, and executing assigned corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.

  • Evaluating new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages.

  • Performing shop audits on Pressure Vessel and Relief device vendors to ensure they meet our quality of standards. Approving vendors do spot checks on the shops to make sure they are following our procedures and meeting our high-quality expectations.

If you...

• Bachelor’s in engineering (Mechanical Preferred), Construction Management, or Physics

• Have experience in Engineering, Inspection, or Construction practices in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Have Risk Management, and Analytical Skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as in SAP
