Terminal Operations Supervisor

Location: Port of Freeport, TX

Salary: $27/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a Terminal Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day terminal activities, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment while meeting both The Company's and customer expectations. This role requires a diligent individual who can manage equipment maintenance and repairs, handle customer inquiries and concerns, conduct safety investigations, and ensure compliance with shipping line policies.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the functionality of all equipment and facilities, including safety measures like fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

• Manage customer relations, addressing inquiries, providing quotes, and handling policy concerns.

• Investigate accidents and incidents, and prepare monthly and yearly safety reports.

• Oversee the adherence to shipping line policies and cargo handling procedures.

• Direct, train, and coach yard staff, ensuring smooth operations.

• Coordinate daily staffing of the ILA workforce.

• Demonstrate proficiency in cargo handling and rigging techniques.

Competencies:

• Excellent conflict resolution skills.

• Strong multitasking abilities.

• Proficiency in mathematics and project management.

• Experience with excavation, agriculture, and heavy equipment operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.

• Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and software packages.

• Ability to obtain a TWIC badge for security clearance.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work environment exposed to varying weather conditions.

• Moderate physical demands with some strenuous activities.

Travel:

• Minimal overnight travel may be required (up to 10%).
