Description:
Reporting to the Practice Coordinator, 5 Main Observation, this position is responsible for assistance in maintaining a smooth functioning nursing unit. The Unit Secretary transcribes physician orders, answers the telephone, greets and assists people who arrive on the unit, assists with admissions and discharges, and maintains the desk area as an efficient work area.

Pay Range: 21.00 - 28.46
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
One (1) year of experience as a secretary in an acute care setting or equivalent experience is required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
Must be able to handle multiple phone lines and schedule department procedures.
Ability to work with multiple computer applications simultaneously is required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, computer software skills and data entry, effective oral and written communication skills are
required.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, family, visitors, and
physicians under routine and stressful situations are required.
