If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.Responds to taxpayer's inquiries regarding preparation of a variety of tax returns, related schedules, and other documentation; resolves account inquiries; advises taxpayers of enforcement actions; manages sensitive case problems designated as requiring special case handling.Analyzes and resolves tax processing problems. Adjusts taxpayer accounts, prepares, and issues manual refunds, performs multiple credit transfers, computes tax, penalty, and interest (including restricted interest).Secures payment of delinquent taxes and filing of delinquent returns. Recommends lien and/or levy action, includes initiating supporting information for release.May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, and provide technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentTelework Eligible Positions: Telework eligible positions do not guarantee telework. Examples of qualifying experience include, experience dealing with the public analyzing tax or accounting issues. Experience resolving problems, adjusting accounts, and providing information on financial issues.Specialized Experience GS-07:Applicants must have: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) in the Federal government. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies necessary for successful job performance.
