Southern Pine Electric Cooperative Line Technician Helper in Frisco City, Alabama

Job in Frisco City Will receive on-the-job training and experience for performing line service maintenance and construction functions under direct and detailed supervision. WORKING CONDITIONS: Field work with exposure to adverse elements of weather; strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting; require flexibility to work overtime on short notice; flexibility to work during emergency situations.

Require physical ability in climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, defined heavy work. Visual acuity required as machine operator. MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS: All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.

Require High School Diploma/Equivalent. Require basic knowledge of electricity; ability to acquire a working knowledge of company tools and equipment. Require the ability to acquire knowledge of the principles and practices in line construction service and operations and maintenance requirements in an electric distribution system; to become knowledgeable of Southern Pine Electric Cooperative's policies and procedures, including safety rules and safety regulations. Require excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with members; flexibility to work varied hours. Require the ability to successfully pass Southern Pine Electric Cooperative's employment entrance examination and drug screen. **[Requires valid driver's license when hired but requires the ability to have and maintain a validcommercial driver's license and to pass and maintain DOT certification after start to work.

**Prefer previous experience in electric system line construction or right-of-way operations.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Two-way communication with the immediate supervisor on work related plans and approvals; to receive direction and guidance as needed for performance improvement.

External: Demonstrate an awareness that the job exists to effectively serve each and every member, and to achieve increased understanding of member and public understanding for support of the Cooperative.
