Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• In Surgical Services, the RN prescribe, delegate, and coordinate the nursing care provided for school age and adolescents patients

• Professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, for a designated time frame, and provides quality care to these patients

• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment

  Required Skills/Abilities

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

• Hold current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or is eligible for reciprocity and holds a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners to practice professional nursing

• 3-5 years of pre/post op, NICU or PICU experience required

• Pediatric nursing experience preferred

• Current BLS certification required

• Must obtain PALS certification within 1 year of employment

• Demonstrate advanced and mature critical thinking and assessment skills
