Accounting Manager

A client of ours is looking for an Accounting Manager for a contract role. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, support internal and external audits, and ensure accurate documentation of financial processes and transactions. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities of Accounting Manager

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide documentation, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and documentation for audits.

  • Maintain and improve documentation processes for financial transactions, ensuring they are complete and up to date for compliance and regulatory purposes.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting.

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial insights for senior management.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

  • Train and supervise accounting staff, offering guidance on audit and documentation standards.

    Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Accounting Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

  • 5+ years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role and a focus on audit support and documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).

  • Experience with audit processes and working with auditors.

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate across departments.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
