As a Senior System Administrator, Hardware Engineering you will join the hardware engineering team as part of our Air Traffic Systems department supporting the FAA. You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as a member of the hardware team in the design, development and integration of communication systems in our labs and customer sites. Our systems communicate with satellites in providing signal that contains corrections and GPS navigation information to allow precise positioning for use in safety and life situations like aircraft landing and en-route navigation to support the FAA.

What You Will Do

• You will work onsite at our Fullerton CA facility

• You will perform and support the hardware team in server infrastructure maintenance in a RedHat Linux environment to include server management (software and hardware), storage management (logical and physical), data backup and restoration, software and license configuration and workstation support

• You will collaborate closely with the hardware team, cross functional disciplines and leadership to drive cost efficiency and adhere to project schedules, making a significant impact on our success

• You will have the opportunity to develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

• You will manage NAS storage environment (i.e. NetApp)

• You will monitor systems and make updates on configurations

• You will provide user support to all functional disciplines and troubleshoot issues that may arise

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience in system administration or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience in system administration

• Must have prior experience supporting Linux architecture

• Must have prior experience with application installation in a multi-server environment

• Must have prior experience with one of the following: VMware ESXI, vCenter and VSAN administration

• U.S. Citizenship Required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working with and configuring Cisco-based network equipment

• Experience with system network protocols (e.g. SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS and NFS)

• Knowledge of NAS (e.g. NetApp)

• Knowledge of the RedHat Operating Systems

• Scripting ability using Unix shell (e.g. Korn, Bash)

• Knowledge of Cyber Security

The salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 144,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
