Job Overview

TE Connectivity, Energy Division is currently seeking a Product Development Engineer specialized increatingand developing new product platforms for the renewables market (solar, BESS, wind, hydrogen) to join the Overhead Solutions new product development team.

This position will be on-site at their Fuquay-Varina location

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create TE Energy connector products for LV applications using metallic andpolymericmaterials

  • 3D CAD design using Creo/Pro-E & 2D CAD design

  • Product Data management of eBOMs

  • Executing engineering efforts on new product platforms from concept to industrialization across a range of renewables projects

  • Executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the business

  • Preparing design verification test plans, Design & Process FMEAs

  • Recording results of design reviews, design decision meetings, and writing technical summaries

  • Assist product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.

  • Being a strong technical partner and providing support to product management team

  • Attending/assisting with customer meetings, technology days and site visits as required.

What your background should look like:

  • BSME, BSEE, or similar engineering degree with a minimum of 3 years of engineering related experience for Energy market applications, with specific experience in the renewables market

  • Experience creating power connectors for solar, BESS, and renewables applications

  • Knowledge of BESS products and architecture, PV connectors, fuse harnesses, and solar farm trunk architecture

  • Knowledge in connector product designs utilizing aluminum and copper materials

  • Experience in cable harness design is beneficial

  • Experience in competitive tear downs

  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD design tools such as Creo, 3D scanning & 3D printing equipment

  • Knowledge of grounding connector systems would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of plastic material properties

  • LDFSS or DMAIC 6-sigma black or green belt an advantage

  • Knowledge and understanding of ANSI, UL, IEEE, IEC connector, BESS, PV specifications

  • Proficient in MS Office suite

  • Willingness to travel, if required

  • Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.

  • Fluent communication with own team, customers, internal senior business leaders and technology leaders

  • Individual must be self-motivated and have strong planning ability

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $$84,640 - $126,960(subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
