Position Overview:

We have a unique full-time School Social Worker opening with our wonderful school partners in Gages Lake! This position offers a unique opportunity to work with students who have medically complex conditions and complex communication needs in their specialized educational settings. This social worker would partner with the school psychologist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist etc. If you are passionate about working with higher-need populations and enjoy working collaboratively in the school, we want you to apply!

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support (whole group, small group, 1:1) to identified students with varying disabilities

  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety and success of students

  • Advocate for the well-being of students (social/emotional/academic)

  • Cross-functional collaboration with teachers and families to understand how to best meet student needs

  • Provide push-in services as needed

  • Facilitate IEP meetings

  • Create and maintain interventions in order to understand the effectiveness of IEPs

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social Work

  • LMSW license eligible in the State of Illinois

  • Previous experience in a K-12 setting preferred
