The Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Conflict Counsel, Region 1 is accepting applications for a part time investigator at its Gainesville office which covers the Eighth Circuit counties. The Regional Conflict Counsel’s Office provides quality defense services in criminal cases and related matters in the state courts.

Job Description: Complete investigative work on felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile criminal cases; dependency and termination of parental rights cases. Work includes: discovery review, pre-trial assistance, jury selection, trial support, witness management, subpoena service, and sentence mitigation. It also includes field work; locating and interviewing witness, subpoena service, crime scene examination, taking photos and videos, autopsy and evidence reviews. Frequent travel is required, including occasional overnight trips.

Requirements and Qualifications: Must have a minimum of three years investigation experience. (e.g. criminal defense, law enforcement, private investigator, journalism) Excellent written communication and interview skills are required. Superior research skills are essential including social media and internet investigation experience. A minimum two-year college degree, or prior law enforcement certification, or professional investigative certification is preferred. Experience can count toward the college degree requirement. Computer proficiency is required. Board Certified Criminal Defense Investigator and/or National Defense Investigator Association membership is preferable. The successful candidate must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance as applicable.

Salary: $23,500 - $25,000.
