Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
Three years of relevant experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
70% - Accreditation Management for 700 Residents/Fellows and over 60 Residency/Fellowship Programs by maintaining knowledge of current and potential changes in accreditation requirements. Develops policies based on these requirements and makes recommendations to GME leadership to ensure compliance is met. Manages all Graduate Medical Education Committees (GMEC) to include GMEC Executive; Special Called Meetings. Education Subcommittee; Quality Improvement and Program Review Subcommittee; Chief Resident/House Officers Association Subcommittee, Well-being Subcommittee., and External Training Site Review Subcommittee.
10% - Responsible for the success of highly complex institutional GME events. This includes overseeing the planning and implementation of seven annual resident/fellow events, twelve program coordinator events, and one faculty event.
5% - Responsible for managing and auditing systems or operations in order to evaluate and report on the adequacy, effectiveness, and comprehensiveness of compliance, accounting, management, or other GME controls. This includes 16 internal and external data systems for the management of residency/fellowship training.
5% - Consulting and Relationship Management. Serves as point of contact with the ACGME, Texas Medical Board, Human Resources, Parking, Employee Health, Office of International Affairs, External Training Facilities, UTMB Program Directors and Coordinators on matters related to employment, educational effectiveness, and accreditation compliance.
5% - Manages over 250 active affiliation and program agreements by working with legal counsel, training programs, grants, and contracts, and non-UTMB facilities to ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation requirements.
5% - Resident/Fellow Employment. Responsible for the review process of data collection and credentialing over 200 new trainees annually including licensing, medical school diplomas, certifications, appropriate clearances; annual advancement for over 400 current trainees; completing approximately 200 trainees. Works with legal counsel on annual contracts for 700 residents/fellows and with international affairs for trainees on visas.
