Robert Half Human Resources Technician in Gardena, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an HR Coordinator in the non-profit sector located in Gardena, California. The HR Coordinator will be crucial in managing daily operations within general human resource functions, providing technical guidance, participating in organizational development work, and playing an active role in recruitment and training programs.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the recruitment process for staff to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Conduct the pre-employment process to collect necessary documents needed for employment applications.

• Develop reports for personnel actions and assist in recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and developing materials.

• Respond to verifications of employment, salary verifications, compensation surveys, and classification requests.

• Prepare various reports including professional development attendance, EEO reports, and employment reports.

• Troubleshoot applicant issues related to the applicant tracking software.

• Enter data into Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) related to new employee information and personnel actions.

• Develop and maintain personnel files.

• Screen visitors, telephone calls, and other communications to determine urgency and nature of business.

• Provide information about the completion of departmental documents and processes.

• Engage and support historically minoritized groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices.

Skills:

• Human Resources (HR) Administration. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

• Prior experience in Human Resources administration or a similar role within the non-profit sector.

• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Proficient in HRIS and other HR technology systems.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changes in the HR field.
