Prepare reports of all violations noted during | | inspections | | - Advises contractorsin interpreting and applying code provisions. | | - Receives complaints regarding defective construction and handles | | enforcement problems. | | - Issues warnings and stop-work orders, if necessary, where | | construction is not being mad in compliance with regulations as | | to methods and/or materials. | | - Reviews building plans for compliance with building codes; issues | | permits. | | - Assists with minimum housing inspections | | - Answers questions from private citizens, contractors, and | | builders. | | - Reviews plans to determine compliance with codes. | | - Testifies in court on code violation cases. | | - Prepares and submits reports and keeps records regarding | | inspections. | | - Conducts commercial plan reviews. | | - Attends training to increase skills and maintain certifications. | | - Performs related duties as required. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Minimum Qualifications: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Applicants must have earned a high school diploma (or equivalent). | | | | Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and have a good | | driving history. | | | | All applicants must at least be pre-qualified for level 1 | | certificates in all trades from the NC Code Officials Qualification | | Board.
