Job Title: Process Engineer Summer Internship 2025

Summary:In this role, you will aid the site in improving operational efficiency, product quality, and safety using continuous improvement methodologies. This will involve working with operators and senior leadership to define the problem and develop solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish / execute / maintain gap analysis of Continuous Improvement Processes

  • Ensure compliance with standards for EHS, cost control, waste reduction, quality

  • Recommends modifications or additions that will address projects for operational improvements

  • Identifying process safety reactivity evaluations, process training, and operating procedures

  • Ensures new production processes are implemented in compliance with Environmental and Process Safety regulations and Momentive policies and standards

  • Support significant processing issues and incidents where chemical formulations are involved

  • Communicate to the site and Senior Leadership team as required

  • Embrace continuous improvement philosophies and tools to engage employees

  • Additional Job Duties, as assigned

  • Drive visual operation performance metrics to the shop floor.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Good Communication skills with local (site) teams and manager

  • Bring to closure assigned projects and communicate the findings using appropriate tools. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word docs, Mini tab, SAP)

  • Compliance with EHS policies and standards

  • Rising Junior or Senior and a manufacturing engineering degree or similar degree (f.e. chemistry or chemical engineering).

Program requirements

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship

  • The candidate is expected to be available to work in person 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks between May and August.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing is required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be U.S. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT VERBIAGErequired. Occasional lifting, moving up to 50 lbs., and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Students enrolled in a Graduate degree level program are eligible to receive a higher rate than the range listed below. Master's rate: $32/hr; PhD rate: $37/hr

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
