Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to manage and oversee the financial aspects of significant construction projects, including the Obama Library, Bally's Casino, and Chase Tower rebuild. In this role, you will be responsible for project-based billing, contract review, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and variance analysis. Additionally, you will handle heavy AR responsibilities, including managing subcontractor payments, preparing monthly billing, and conducting financial audits.
Responsibilities
Manage month-end ownership for joint venture projects.
Handle project-based billing, contract review, AP, AR, and variance analysis.
Ensure accurate reporting of all accounting and project-based billing into the larger owner of the projects.
Take responsibility for AR entries, subcontractor payments, monthly billing, and financial audits.
Perform milestone billing and manage AR for all projects.
Essential Skills
Experience as a project accountant handling projects of $100 million or more.
Proficiency in month-end processes including AP, AR, booking journal entries, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
Strong billing and subcontractor payment management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in Accounting.
Experience with Procore or Jonas Software.
Work Environment
This position is based in a union environment with a strong family feel. You will work in the office five days a week, with some flexibility for start and end times to accommodate personal commitments. The company is a woman/minority-owned business and is involved in several key projects for Chicago. You will report to the Controller.
