Summary
Working closely with the Associate Vice President of Communications, the Editorial Writer and Project Coordinator is responsible for crafting editorial content primarily for the campus news page, featuring campus events, student and faculty projects, new grants and other campus developments. The position is also responsible for developing and coordinating editorial content for various campus events and initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Research, conduct interviews, write and edit content for news articles featuring campus projects and grants, faculty and student collaborations, and more.
Create editorial content for newsletters and programs for special events and activities such as speaker series, symposiums and annual events.
Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched and free of grammatical errors.
Coordinate and communicate with department writers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, web designers and student workers.
Attend informational meetings and campus events.
Provide Administrative support as needed.
Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the campus community through impactful storytelling and project collaboration, fostering engagement and connection among faculty, students, staff and alumni. The position is a part-time, 15 hours/week non-exempt position. This is primarily an in-person position to allow for collaboration and office support. Pay rate is $25.00/hour.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations, English, or a related field.
Proficient writer with a keen sense of accuracy and detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in writing, editing, project management or similar role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with campus environments or similar institutional settings is advantageous.
