Summary

The purpose of this position is to keep various machines in auto-boning running by performing general maintenance (problem solving) in order to keep the product flowing to the appropriate belts, s assigned by management. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 4:30 pm - 3:00 am.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Maintain machine in good operational order.

  2. Keep machine free of jams and maintain production flow.

  3. Make changes based on production needs.

  4. Maintain basic equipment conditions such as cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, and maintain proper alignment.

  5. Minor repairs as needed.

  6. Cross train ho help on all machines in the area (baader, gainco, sensor x, marel classifier, grasselli) as needed.

  7. Work with process tech's and multi-craft techs to ensure that all machienes are working at best case scenario.

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent not required but preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • External: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

  • Internal: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.

Experience Preferred

  • Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
