Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Position Title : Night Shift Certified Pharmacy Technician

Position Type: Full Time, 7 on 7 Off, Non-Exempt

Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs to all patients and areas of the hospital, maintaining the drug inventory, charging and maintaining patient records. Advanced experience and training in the areas of controlled substances, IV admixtures, and handling and preparing cytotoxic drugs. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Performance demonstrates efforts to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs and improve quality.

Rate of Pay - $20.70-$28.90

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Must have Maryland Pharmacy Technician Certification*

Must have National PTCB*

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Pass math/pharmaceutical calculation test. Nationally certified pharmacy technician. Successful completion of foreign pharmacy graduate examination will be considered equivalent.

  • Preferred: one year of IV admixture and chemotherapy experience.

  • Able to communicate effectively, speak, write and comprehend English.

  • Able to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff in order to meet objectives.

  • Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and changes in workload and work schedule.
