Drew Marine USA Operations Manager in Germany, Delaware

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager will oversee the warehousing and logistic operations at our Hamburg facility, including transportation within the region focused primarily on the last mile delivery to the customer. The Operations Manager will be ultimately responsible for all site activities, including shipping and receiving, EHS, compliance with local laws and regulations, and maintenance activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and manage the transportation activities within Germany to optimize efficiency and support cost reduction objectives

  • Monitor and optimize logistics processes, including inventory management and order fulfillment.

  • Manage the Drew Marine operated Hamburg warehouse and facility, including personnel and maintenance activities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the facility, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Implement and maintain effective facility management practices to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Support global safety objectives throughout EMEA

  • Coordinate activities with Sales functions for delivery completion improvement and an increased Customer Satisfaction level

  • Other tasks may be assigned

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations or logistics management, preferably in a warehouse of distribution environment

  • Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes, including warehousing and delivery operations within Germany

  • Fluency in English and Germany, both written and spoken.

  • Familiarity with hazardous goods transportation and storage regulations.

  • Demonstrated experience in working in a fast paced, changing environment

  • Must be innovative, detail-oriented, and proficient with spreadsheets, databases and other office tools

  • Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels and to resolve complaints

  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously

  • Ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field is required

  • Transportation and Import/Export certifications a plus

Physical Working Environment:

  • Climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time

  • Position requires domestic travel up to 10%
