Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Instructor - General.
This is a Part-Time, Non-Benefited position with hours varying between 10-20 hours per week.
The Recreation Instructor - Reports to the Recreation Coordinator. The primary function of this position is to teach a wide range of recreation classes for early childhood to adult age groups. Instructors work independently in a variety of settings including: classroom, parks, or courts, and are expected to provide their own curriculum and management skills. Instructors must also be able to resolve conflicts, adapt to participants' needs/behaviors, respond to emergency situations and enforce facility and classroom policies. Positions may be available at the following locations: Freestone Recreation Center, Gilbert Community Center, McQueen Park Activity Center, Cactus Yards, Southeast Regional Library, Riparian Preserve, and Gilbert Regional Park. Applicants will be assigned to a location-based on program needs.

Be able to create and implement age-appropriate curriculum
One year of teaching experience or classroom management preferred
Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment
Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment. This can be an ongoing position depending on availability and facility needs.
Ability to work independently
Age requirement: Must be 18+ years
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
