We are seeking a highly skilled and motivatedProcurement Buyerto join our team in Glassboro, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, exceptional negotiation skills, and an in-depth understanding of market pricing trends. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the highest quality standards for our construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services.

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure the best terms for the company.

  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Receive purchase requests from internal staff and write purchase orders as required.

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project deadlines.

  • Collaborate with project coordinators and estimators to understand project requirements.

  • Recommend alternative and equal product to internal staff and salesman based on what is on hand and pricing considerations.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.

  • Manage budgets and provide cost analyses to optimize spending.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience as a buyer in the construction industry.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of construction materials, equipment, and pricing trends.

  • Proficiency in software including NetSuite, SalesForce, and Microsoft Suite.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Familiarity with construction contracts and legal terms a plus.
