We are excited to welcome a seasoned Expert Human Factors Engineer to our innovative team. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge human factors principles to revolutionize the design and functionality of healthcare systems, making significant impacts on patient safety and system performance. Collaborate with a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team to enhance healthcare tools, making them more intuitive and effective for both providers and patients. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in human factors, committed to leading by example, executing against program objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within Agile frameworks.

Responsibilities of Role:

  • Develop and implement strategies and designs that integrate state-of-the-art human factors knowledge, focusing on improving user interaction and satisfaction.

  • Design mixed methods research approaches to explore the problems space and/or evaluating existing solutions.

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess product and process effectiveness, proposing redesigns or improvements to minimize negative impacts.

  • Engage in live demo calls and user sessions, providing insightful feedback and adaptable solutions based on real-time user interactions.

  • Articulate human factors issues and solutions clearly to both technical teams and end users, in formal presentations and informal discussions, ensuring effective dissemination and application of findings.

  • Champion the adoption of SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices, leading high-performing Agile teams to drive organizational change and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Doctorate degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or related field.

  • Experience: At least 12 years of professional experience in human factors engineering, with a strong background in research and product development.

  • Clearance: Willingness and ability to achieve required levels of security clearance (e.g., Public Trust or greater).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of current research and industry trends in human factors engineering.

  • Thorough understanding of all applicable standards, HFE methods, and dissemination options.

  • Proven ability to visualize how design changes affect all users and to communicate these impacts effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex ideas to various stakeholders.

  • Thorough understanding of applicable standards, human factors engineering methods, and dissemination strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience with SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare informatics or telehealth systems.

  • Familiarity with enterprise patient records management systems (e.g, Epic, Cerner, etc.)

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in healthcare, as well as applicable systems for evaluation, (e.g., SEIPS model, healthcare socio-technical systems (STS), ISO 9241, SQuaRE, etc.).

  • Proven track record of successful project leadership and stakeholder management.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI.

Base Pay Range $63-$75/hour

All compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
