We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

A Senior Construction Scheduler is needed to support the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Program for the Dominion Energy nuclear fleet. SLR is a multi-billion dollar portfolio of major projects implemented over a 10+ year period intended to extend the license and plant reliability for the nuclear stations from 60 years to 80 years of operations. Current projects include but are not limited to License Renewal (VC Summer), Analog-to-Digital Instrumentation Modernization (North Anna and Surry), Steam Generator Replacements (Surry), Main Condenser Replacements (North Anna), Reactor Building Crane and Fuel Handling Replacements (North Anna and Surry), and Main Electrical Generator Replacements (North Anna and Surry).

This position reports to the Supervisor of Engineering Projects at Innsbrook Technical Center and is responsible for leading the overall master scheduling effort for the whole fleet SLR program.

Responsibilities

In conjunction with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor Scheduler, develop, implement and analyze the master project schedule (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) to ensure activities are on track to meet project milestones.

Integrates and manages owner project schedule submittals into master schedule.

Responsible for reviewing critical path, lag relationships, constraints, and milestones.

Addresses, reviews and corrects any issues with master project schedule to assigned EPC Contractors.

Track all project issue specifics as they relate to the master schedule.

Applies specialized technical knowledge of construction schedules to address/resolve any issues with project team.

Act as lead schedule representative to major projects.

Serve as project schedule subject matter expert and communicate issues up through project team and management.

Interface with other Supplier Groups to provide scheduling data for change order requests, bid comparisons, and resolving schedule problems.

Perform detailed schedule variance analysis via Primavera Project Planner (PS) Software.

Liaise with Project Managers, individual project Schedulers, Project Controls, and Suppliers to develop and maintain project metrics (progress curves, labor histograms, project milestone, issues, etc.) to ensure site project goals are met, up to and including Primavera instruction/training.

Support scheduling reporting for Dominion Energy corporate and legal/regulatory submittals.

Maintain the SLR Outage Integration Chart including facilitating semi-annual alignment meetings with nuclear site stakeholders and Outage and Planning departments.

Provide weekly/monthly summary reports to Project Management leadership team, Site Project Management team and Executive leadership.

Train, coach and educate staff on proper scheduling techniques and SLR-developed scheduling standards.

Perform additional assignments as requested.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in construction scheduling, project management/costing or other directly related experience, preferably with multi-million/billion dollar large industrial projects.

  • Hands-on proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6) required. Experience with Excel, MS Project, and Word also helpful.

  • Must have experience working with resource loading schedules, contractor generated baseline schedules, time impact analyses, and earned value management reporting.

  • Must have a working knowledge of how to read engineering / construction drawings.

  • Must understand how project and Supplier work-scopes are actually sequenced and constructed.

  • Ability to convert schedules from one format to another (i.e. Primavera P6 to Primavera P3 or Microsoft Project).

  • Possess excellent schedule analysis, trouble shooting, and forecasting skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.

  • Ability to work with multiple teams with a matrix management organization.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
