We are excited to bring on board a Senior Human Factors Engineer who will utilize advanced human factors principles to influence the design and functionality of healthcare systems, aiming for enhancements in patient safety and overall system performance. Working in close collaboration with a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team, you will refine healthcare tools to improve experiences for both healthcare providers and patients, ensuring all interactions are intuitive, safe, and effective. This role is suited for individuals passionate about driving innovation and enhancing healthcare through meticulous design improvements.

This role requires a seasoned professional with a significant background in human factors, who is committed to applying their expertise to impact patient care and system efficiency. Responsibilities of Role:

  • Develop and refine strategies and designs that integrate advanced human factors knowledge, aiming to elevate user interaction and satisfaction.

  • Conduct detailed evaluations to assess the effectiveness of products and processes, suggesting redesigns or improvements to mitigate negative impacts.

  • Participate in live demo calls and user sessions, providing adaptive feedback and solutions based on real-time interactions.

  • Clearly articulate human factors issues and solutions to both technical teams and end-users through both formal presentations and informal discussions.

  • Champion the implementation of SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices, leading robust Agile teams to foster organizational change and enhance operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 10 years of professional experience in human factors engineering, particularly in a role that involves extensive research or product development.

  • Clearance: Willingness and ability to achieve required levels of security clearance (e.g., Public Trust or greater).

Skills:

  • Profound knowledge of current research and industry trends in human factors engineering.

  • Ability to visualize and effectively communicate how design changes will impact all user groups.

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex ideas to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of applicable standards, human factors engineering methods, and effective dissemination strategies.

  • Proven experience with SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare informatics or telehealth systems.

  • Familiarity with enterprise patient records management systems (e.g, Epic, Cerner, etc.)

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in healthcare, as well as applicable systems for evaluation, (e.g., SEIPS model, healthcare socio-technical systems (STS), ISO 9241, SQuaRE, etc.).

  • Proven track record of successful project leadership and stakeholder management.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI.

Base Pay Range $55-$68

All compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
