Job Title: Electromechanical Technician

Nestlé is expanding our factory network and introducing a new manufacturing facility designed with the climate in mind. Our Glendale, Arizona production factory is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and distribution center with cutting-edge technology and advanced systems designed with sustainability at the forefront. Innovative water recycling processes, zero waste to landfill, and fully recyclable product packaging made from food-safe materials are just some of the programs we’ve implemented to support Nestlé’s ambition for zero environmental impact by 2030.

Come join our new Beverage startup factory where we will produce Coffee mate, Starbucks, and Natural Bliss coffee enhancer products.

Our ideal candidate is a multi-skilled individual with primary responsibility to maintain equipment in a proactive safe manner; identify, troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical abnormalities on all factory equipment. Perform all preventative maintenance as scheduled to drive down performance losses and increase equipment reliability. Build operator technical skills and capability.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • $2,500 Sign-On Bonus!

  • This position will start on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule and eventually transition to a continuous operations schedule (24-hour/7-day). Overtime and weekend week may be required to meet critical deadlines.

  • Hourly pay rate of $36-$38

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Identify defects, execute preventative and predictive maintenance plan

  • Work in various areas of the plant including: process areas, primary and secondary packaging equipment, material handling and storage equipment

  • Maintain power distribution system (up to 480 volts)

  • Control systems – Basic Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) input/output hardware troubleshooting, motor, sensor, drives and basic electrical circuits and basic understanding of device communication networks

  • Mechanical system – Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Mechanical Drive systems

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to maintain, optimize and improve production equipment with key plant indicators such as safety, quality and cost

  • Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment

  • Use, validate and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical)

  • Coach operator skills with adjustment/changeover improvements in existing process. For example: new centerlines, improved cleaning process, improved changeover process, elimination of a Source of Contamination (SOC) or Hard to Reach Places (HTRP)

  • Transfer of operational tasks such as lubrication and inspection

  • Build technical procedures

  • Train other technical resources

  • Participate in Problem Solving for line improvements, deviations, Safety and Quality failures

  • Work with your team to make recommendations on how to improve the operation to optimize production with positive contribution to all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Participate in the review of the preventative maintenance plans, planned downtime events and early management activities related to line/area

  • Negotiate defect tags with operators

  • Participate in real time problem solving with operators

  • Identify and create work orders

  • Perform time entry and technical feedback on work performed

  • Improve Maintenance Plans

  • Provide feedback to Maintenance Planner related to current line performance and opportunities to improve

  • Review required spare parts to ensure accurate bill of materials

  • Utilize digital tools and tablets to input data into SAP and other online tools including Digital Manufacturing Operations (DMO)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school Diploma or GED required

  • 2 years of equivalent work experience or a two-year technical degree in Maintenance related area such as Maintenance Technical/Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or Electronics

  • If Level I, associate degree/technical certificate in related field and less than 3 years of relevant work experience

  • If Level II, associate degree/technical certificate in related field and/or 3-5 years of equivalent experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test is required

SKILLS:

  • Control systems – Basic Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) input/output hardware troubleshooting, motor, sensor, drives and basic electrical circuits and basic understanding of device communication networks

  • Mechanical skills – Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical drive systems, utility systems (air, steam, refrigeration etc.)

  • Electrical skills - Knowledge and ability to interpret National Electrical Code, power systems and distribution (up to 480V), motor control circuits, safety circuits

  • Instrumentation and Field Devices - Analog and discrete devices, knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.)
