ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Wealth Management will oversee the management, direction, and development of the Wealth Management Division including Trust & Wealth Services, Investment Services, Retirement Plan Services, LPL Financial Services, and Wealth Management Operations. Additionally, the Director develops strategies and leads teams to: achieve revenue generation and growth goals; maintains quality service standards for reputation management; and develops business relationships, both internal and external, to maximize market opportunities. This position will report to the Chief Banking Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Oversee Wealth Management Division to establish and support strategic and financial goals and objectives based on Company’s Strategic Plan for Investment Services, Trust & Wealth Services, Retirement Plan Services, LPL Financial Services, and Wealth Management Operations.

 Direct and ensure high quality, consistent service and operations throughout division; develop collaborative relationships throughout Company to build prospect pipelines and grow existing customer relationships while creating optimum operating efficiencies.

 Create, coordinate, and justify divisional operating and capital budgets; guide managers to monitor and control expenditures and analyze resources needed. Oversee sales incentive programs.

 Participate in company-wide business development activities; establish and cultivate relationships with community, industry, and professional contacts to promote Company image and attract new business.

 Represent Company as appropriate with community leaders, local businesses, and government officials.

 Direct, oversee and implement changes and additions to policies and procedures; ensure all areas comply with Company policies as well as Federal and State laws and regulations.

 Drive collaborative and consultative team environment and continue to build and develop group’s talent and expertise.

 Manage, coach, and counsel staff to meet department goals and achieve performance standards; encourage continuous improvement for career development.

 Remain current with competitive financial products, delivery channels and services through conferences and professional development opportunities or active research, and share knowledge with staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications/Experience:

 Bachelors degree in financial or related field required; advanced degree or certification (MBA or CFA) preferred

 15 years of experience in trust, wealth, or investment services required

 10 years of sales management experience preferred

Skills/Knowledge:

 Demonstrated senior leadership skills and ability to motivate team toward shared goals

 Comprehensive knowledge of modern portfolio theory, NYS Statutes as related to Trust and Estate Administration, and ERISA and IRS tax codes as relates to Retirement Plan Administration

 Ability to think strategically, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong business acumen

 Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, co-workers, senior leadership, Board of Directors and community influencers

 Proven track record of successful sales leadership

 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

 Solid project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Physical Demands:

 Prolonged periods siting at a desk and some brief periods of walking/standing

 Repetitive use of telephone, computer, computer mouse, and keyboard

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 annually commensurate with experience and education. Additional Compensation may be earned through Company’s annual bonus program, based on individual and company performance. Eligible for Company Stock Award program.
