General Mills Inc Sr Regulatory Specialist - International Pet Food in Golden Valley, Minnesota

Overview We are seeking someone with international regulatory experience to lead product compliance for our pet food business outside of North America. This individual will be responsible for providing market access and assuring compliance to federal regulation of country of sale, including Import regulation, labeling, product standards, ingredients, and claims for China, Asia, Europe, LATAM, and Australia. This position will routinely work with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Supply Chain, Brand Management, Legal, and Sales. It will also provide informal regulatory leadership and guidance to General Mills' distributor markets while across all functions. They will communicate and influence compliance related matters for General Mills Pet Segment to the above distributor markets and internally to General Mills. Key Responsibilities Owns the Admissibility process for the regions and communicates requirements to the international team. Point of contact to provide regulatory and labeling compliance expertise for developing new markets and distributors outside of North America. Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current regulations and relevant technical product and processing information. Develops and Maintains documentation of regulatory processes for the following activities: Perform product formula & ingredients compliance. Articulate labeling requirements to meet compliance needs, develop and maintain accurate pet food labeling information, and approve labels/stickers of finished goods depending on sales strategy. Provide technical guidance, product testing, and documentation to distributors for product registrations. Support claims and certifications validation/substantiation by coordinating with R&D and Legal. Align with product quality managers for shelf life, transport, and storage conditions as per regional climatic conditions. Timely communication of formula changes and impact on product and labels to distributors and act to ensure compliance. Liaison with consultants and country experts to address emerging regulatory issues pertaining to pet food standards & labeling and ensure compliance with current and evolving regulations. Provide input and make risk management decisions to balance regulatory risk with business and operational needs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Food Engineering, or other related education Experience submitting MARA registrations in China, compliance with FEDIAF submissions for the EU, and other countries 5+ years of similar experience in the pet food industry Experience working with product commercialization and pet food regulations Experience with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and food safety for pet food products Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability Strong passion for driving results with high integrity Strong team player with good interpersonal skills that is open to feedback and discussion with the team Able to work well under deadlines and multitask against multiple competing priorities Ability to work independently across functions and locations, form partnerships, and add value. Ability to travel to our World Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN 10-20% (if remote) Additional Considerations General Mills cannot provide international relocation support for this role. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $91900.00 - $138000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.
