Job Details Job Title: Vaccination Crew Worker

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for administering vaccination of the birds via injections.   Prepare every barn for incoming flocks, i.e., washing down, removing shavings, cleaning the nests, etc.  Removing and placing birds out of their houses.  Sanitization and disinfection of all farm buildings and equipment between flocks to ensure and maintain the turkeys' health and well-being.

The Sanitation employee will:

 

  • Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner.

  • Follow the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.

  • Work productively in a team environment and be willing to help in any area to get the job done.

  • Work with a variety of tools and equipment.

  • Must be able to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull, and lift 50 lbs. or more.

  • Successfully work with live animals.

  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations

  • Perform the duties of the job while constantly moving and using hands, occasionally lifting heavy objects while being exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes.

  • Work an extended workday if needed.

  • Sanitize and disinfect turkey production facilities and equipment.

  • Effective time management.

  • Use various tools and protocols to disinfect equipment and facilities.

  • Repair and/or direct the repair of the equipment as needed.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • When necessary, weekend work will be mandatory.

  • Have excellent hand-eye coordination.

  • Follow all company regulations pertaining to biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.

  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

  •   Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document need to be completed and may change as determined by the needs of the company.

    Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience with working with/around live poultry is preferred.

  • A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record are a plus.

  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
