Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to help the culinary team in our events. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently and effectively. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting in meal preparation to support our chefs in delivering high-quality dishes.

Duties

• Manages inventory monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages.
• Creates menus.
• Ensures food quality and consistency.
• Assist in the cooking process by following instructions from chefs and ensuring timely meal preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest standards of food handling.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
• Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.

Skills

• Strong culinary skills with a passion for cooking and the food industry.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling.
• Experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assist where needed in the kitchen operations.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal

Pay: $21.00/hr or BOE

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
