Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

custom assembly machine builder and robot integrator specializing in the integration of robotics and vision systems for small component assembly and test. Our main customers include tier 1 automotive suppliers. We design and build these machines

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer due to an upcoming team vacancy. This position is responsible for mechanical design layout and detail drawings of automated assembly machines and robotic processing cells.

Specific job duties include:

· Designing & engineering new designs and modifying old designs.

· Developing a bill of materials and purchasing parts.

· Updating design files with engineering changes.

· Following assigned design project procedures in an orderly form (concept, review, design, and detail).

· Interaction and collaboration with Project Managers, Machine Shop, Assembly department, and Sales.

· Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity to participate in Proposal Engineering (concept development and simulations).

Travel: Little to no travel; occasional visits to customers, likely within Michigan.

This is a fully on-site position in Goodrich, Michigan.

Work Environment

There are about 40 people working here. Our engineering/technical group consists of 2 Mechanical Engineers, 5 Controls Engineers/PLC Programmers, and 1 Hardware Designer.
