Position Summary:
The
position
reports
to the
VP of
Clinical
Excellence.
Establishes strategic trajectory of quality initiatives for the system and its subsidiaries based on system goals to promote patient outcomes.
Provides
system
level
oversight
and
support to subsidiary
quality
leaders
in the
development
of
clinical
performance
improvement
plans and
activities
to
achieve
high
quality
clinical
outcomes
including infection prevention, patient experience, and
patient
safety.
Establishes a climate of performance improvement including coordination of metrics to measure progress towards goals both on system and subsidiary levels.
Utilizes clinical
guidelines
of
care,
pathways,
and
related
ancillary
department
protocols to assist subsidiaries in development of improvement strategies. as
well
as
oversight
for
system
level
performance
improvement, and
outcomes
management.
Aligns priorities, strategies, and measurements with Infection Prevention, Regulatory/Accreditation, Safety/Risk, and Patient Experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
:
1.
Provides
system
level
oversight
&
support to subsidiary quality
directors
/
leaders
in
all
areas
of
quality management founded on performance improvement methodology.
2.
Oversees
the
development
of
goals
and
plans
for
participation
in
designated
National
Quality
Initiatives,
data
submission, and
reports.
Proactive
in positioning MHC for
future
initiatives.
3.
Establishes the model for organizational Performance Improvement and assists subsidiaries in development of implementation and sustainability.
4.
Manages
the MHC Patient
Safety
Dashboard and facilitates alignment of measures for Infection Prevention, Safety, Risk, Patient Experience, and Quality Collaboratives/Value Based Purchasing.
5.
Aligns acute care with provider-based quality programs to promote effective transitions of care and high functioning care coordination.
6.
Plans
and
implements
new
clinical
and/or
administrative programs
as
needed;
manages
and
develops
budgets
for
the
department.
7.
Provides
system
level
support
and
oversight
for quality
database
management
and
data
integrity
for
designated
databases;
and
helps resolve
problems
and
conflicts.
8.
Develops
system
level
standardized
policies
and
procedures.
Implements
changes
and
ensures
compliance.
Qualifications:
Required:
MastersDegreeinNursing,PublicHealth,orHealthcareAdministration
Certification in Quality Improvement/ Patient Safety are of focus (i.e., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), American Society for Quality (ASQ), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), Team STEPPS(Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety) Master Trainer, Project Management) or must be obtained within two years of employment
Five years of progressively responsible quality management in healthcare related experience that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and frequent involvement with senior management and physicians.
Five year of Regulatory and Accreditation experience such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission, Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Programs
Preferred:
- LEAN/Six Sigma Certification
