This opportunity will be onsite in Grand Forks, ND. This intern will be scheduled for full-time hours from May 2025 through August 2025.

This Manufacturing/Process Engineering intern is responsible for developing tooling designs & manufacturing processes. In this role, you will create models and detailed tooling drawings of components and assemblies using Creo Parametric. You will also be involved in the development of build processes and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing design libraries.

Throughout the program, interns will gain hands on project experience, valuable networking and presentation skills, interaction with leadership, and exposure to a world-class, innovative culture.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, analyze, and create manufacturing work instruction documentation using 3D visualization software.

  • Enforce the Cirrus Operating System quality standards by interpreting manufacturing process specifications (Sequence of Events).

  • Translate visual work instructions into executable work orders through the authoring of MES Process Plans.

  • Support production operations by providing technical support of Work Instruction data and MES work orders.

  • Support product non-conformance documentation and resolution by translating engineering dispositions into work instructions.

  • Ensure document content quality by consistently managing and organizing information for accuracy and readability.

  • Establish and manage relationships from document to document, within document content, or to other points of reference for product information.

  • Explore new work instruction methods and technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

  • Initiate and support continuous improvement activities at a personal, departmental, and cross-functional level.

    Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a relevant degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience with CAD drafting software systems, Pattern Smith, Design Concepts, and/or Diamino preferred.

  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.

  • Follow Manufacturing Engineers direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers.

  • Basic understanding and ability to read prints and schematics.

  • Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.

  • Must be able to complete entire duration of the internship.

  • Must be able to secure local housing for duration of the internship.
