POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for overseeing staff attendance, management and responsibilities, and daily department operations. Must be able to perform all duties of care staff including protective oversight of residents, hospitality, and customer service, while ensuring residents and participants have a safe, stimulating and enjoyable experience. Employees assigned to this position will also assist with laundry, food service, and activities as needed.

This position has a full-time schedule of either Friday-Tuesday OR Wednesday-Sunday from 1:45p-10:15p.

This position has a starting wage range of $19-19.95 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist as needed with aspects of care staff duties including but not limited to: resident care (personal care, medications, activities, food service, housekeeping, family interactions, emergencies, etc.) and clerical duties as assigned. Ensure quality of tasks completed by care staff including, but not limited to: resident care, medication management, entering of documentation into electronic software system, filing of resident documentation/records, and medication cart audits, etc. Communicate resident concerns, and recommend care plan changes to the appropriate individual; facility nurse, Care Manager, resident physician, department manager, etc. Providing general oversight of QMAP-certified care staff including coordinating/assigning duties, reviewing documentation, and ensuring accuracy of Medication Administration Procedures. Assist manager, when needed, with program inquiries which may require meeting with prospective families, maintaining and completing inquiry packets and forms, and entering and maintaining inquiry files in the current customer relationship management software. Depending on assignment, may manage new program enrollments including reviewing, gathering, creating, and faxing information to physicians; ensures forms are returned. Depending on assignment, may manage Census and Daily Schedule within the assigned department. Train new staff and re-train current staff as necessary on QMAP policies and procedures, de-escalation techniques, and other important topics. Assist in facilitating team meetings and striving to create a culture of excellence and quality. Assist in directing emergency situations and making decisions which are in the best interest of the resident and/or employee. Administer medications and document as necessary. Maintain personal care competencies. Attend team meetings and all staff leadership meetings as necessary. Fulfill, promote, model, and lead others in carrying out the philosophy of Person-Centered Care. Perform Medication Cart Inventory Audits as necessary. Assist QMAP-certified staff with medication disposal as required. Understand and follow all applicable Hilltop, Senior Life Options, and Department policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal regulations, policies and procedures. Depending on assignment, may oversee volunteers and attend volunteer meetings. Other duties as ass gned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and current QMAP; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience must include demonstrated leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to perform the essential duties of a Care Specialist or Participant Specialist.
