Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. headquartered at 3735 Buckeystown Pike, Buckeystown, MD 21717 phone number: (301)-831-1000, is looking to fill eight (8) Landscaper positions from 03/15/2025 to 12/15/2025. This is for full time, peak-load temporary employment. Duties include: As a landscaper, the workers will be part of a team that will perform a variety of duties including landscape installation/duties and general roadway maintenance tasks. Workers will safely operate hand/power tools and equipment required to perform each task, such as sod cutters, shovels, loppers, wheelbarrows, pressure washers, pole saw, quickie saws, and chainsaws. Workers will safely mow grass with a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools along green areas near highways, roads, and frontage roads. Workers will build and maintain gardens and/or other outdoor landscapes. Workers will install and maintain mulch, trees, and plants. Workers will also conduct manual labor for tasks such as digging, filling, and tamping down holes and trimming trees, ornamentals, brush, and overgrown hedges. Workers will safely walk along assigned areas to pick up, remove, and dispose of litter and debris in assigned areas and in homeless clean-up areas. Workers will safely operate hand/power tools and utilize a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools along areas near highways, roads, and frontage roads to maintain drains. They will maintain drains and ensure proper draining by shoveling material out of ditch lines and drainage cleaning debris and material from roadside drainage structures of litter and debris. Workers will safely operate hand/power tools and equipment required to perform each task. Workers will gather and remove litter, safely operate hand/power tools and equipment required to perform each task, such as sod cutters, shovels, loppers, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or brush trimmer, axes, wheelbarrows, pressure washers, pole saw, quickie saws, and chainsaws. Workers will operate vehicles or powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. Workers will also care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
Special Requirements: Workers must be able to work flexible shifts and outdoors in varying climate patterns. Construction and outdoor-related experience are a plusthree (3) months of experience in mowing or landscaping. Workers must pass an employer-paid pre-employment, post- employment, and random 10-panel drug test. Workers must pass a pre-employment background check. Workers must work 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
Returning workers and workers with experience may be paid higher wage rates. $20.53 per hour with overtime available at $30.80 per hour, based on hourly rate. 40 hours per week from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Returning workers and workers with experience may be paid higher wage rates. Job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required.
The requested temporary workers will be based at 2706 Hardrock Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 and will service clients within the Dallas- Fort Worth-Arlington, TX, including the counties of Dallas and Tarrant County. Employer provides transportation to and from all worksites.
Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is Bi-Weekly. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as law requires. Employer will provide optional housing at a bi-weekly payroll deduction of $250. Employers will also assist workers in finding housing. Transportation will be provided only for business use to and from designated housing to the job site. The ffered housing is optional to workers.
Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least threefourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period only to the extent that this guarantee is enforced by the Department of Labor. As of the date of this posting, the threefourths guarantee is not enforced, but this is subject to change.
