Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX. This position supports the production activities for Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Extended Range (GMLRS ER) which could include leading production line validations, supplier visits, internal manufacturing shop support, earned value management, proposal support, tooling, design reviews for producibility and any other program related production activity. Job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the support of hardware and tooling for MFC Dallas Mechanical hardware and Supply Chain, Production Line Validations, Engineering Release reviews for new and revised design requirements, and Make or Buy coordination / management.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline

Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes

Ability to obtain or currently possess a Secret Clearance

Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

Experience interpreting drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data

Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and LM shop(s) Production Operations

Ability to travel domestic and/or international

Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex

Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

Desired Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical people

Bachelors or higher degree in technical discipline (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc.)

Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost

Experience with development programs and/or conceptual designs

Experience working with Government customers

Experience Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles. Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Knowledge of SAP and/or an MRP production control system

Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience

Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
